What are the asthma rates like for people who live in Southern California? I have been following all of the?

wild fire coverage on the news that past few months, from Malibu down to San Diego, and with the smog in Socal, the air quality must be horrendous. Why do so many people move there? I just don't get it. Do people really think they are going to become rock stars or movie stars? Maybe 1/10,000 will. Better odds winning a scratch off lottery ticket. I live up here in Seattle, Wa. And all the people who bag on Seattle for being rainy, well, I'd much rather have that and breath fresh air then to live down there and breathe in smoke and smog, plus I was born with asthma, so I don't think it would be a good fit down there. Looks like a disaster waiting to happen down there, fires, earthquakes, gangs, smog, etc.
