Were the 2009 NBA Finals a big deal in other countries and were they even broadcastinternationally?

I know that ppl in China are rather fond of the NBA cause of Yao Ming, but do you think other countries actually were into the finals? like here some ppl are interested in Spanish soccer or European soccer championships. i thought it could be the same with the finals
