Help with tonsil stones :(?

im 15 and ive had tonsil stones for about 2 years. you cant see them actually on my tonsils but i can feel them.i cough them up every other day and they are really annoying:( i heard to remove them you can get cotton wool and pick them off the tonsil but i cant see mine so i cant do this. I gargle with listerine and i still seem to have them! should i go to the doctors about this? and is there anything else i can try :(?
